And here it is, my final listicle — and article — of 2021: the most popular articles of the year as decided by you. I couldn’t have asked for a better mix: experience-led reviews, new gear announcements and overcoming adversity, and the sharing of hard-earned knowledge.
For the first time since I started EMULSIVE back in the Summer of 2015, I’m really not 100% sure where we’ll be this time next year. I see some new product announcements coming next year — along with at least two new colour negative film stocks. Murmurs from Fujifilm tell me the ship may finally be turning, and there are several new (cottage-industry) camera makers/models coming up…
…but new (complex, factory-made, and mass-produced) camera hardware remains an obvious omission from 2022’s roster, which leads me to believe that:
You might be interested in...
- Either someone is playing their cards very close to their chest…
- Or that the burgeoning market our community has created is still considered unable to support the complex (and likely expensive) camera hardware its crying out for.
I really don’t know the answer but I’m looking forward to finding out. Thank you all so much for your support and friendship this year. I’ll be spending my 2022 trying to return as much of that as I can.
Take care and happy new year 🙏
