I shot over 14 portraits with the Polaroid 636 Close-up. I used it in different locations (inside of a white room, outside at 9:00 AM when it was a little bit colder, outside when it started raining. My expectations for the film were not high because in my mind I wanted to have a grunge-type style – one of the reasons I choose black and white film because I think that you can reveal more emotions and more about your subject.
In the end, after two days I had a bunch of interesting portraits and stories. I accidentally dropped the camera on the concrete and after my heart skipped a bit…thinking that I didn’t have my spare with me, it actually let me take a double exposure without having that feature on the camera 😉
When I shot the couple in the white room, we prepared to do the portrait, pressed the button and the photograph wasn’t ejected, in the first place I was, oh, please don’t die now! And I said to them, well let’s try again. I pushed the button the second time and the photograph was ejected and the result as brilliant. A double exposure without wanting it or having as a feature on my camera.
