Looking back on the track for a little green bag (a little green box of film actually ☺). I’m revisiting my favorite Fuji consumer film – Fujifilm Superia 200, as promised in my previous 5 Frames With… Fujicolor C200 story. This time around I used my Pentax Super-A, with an SMC Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7 Lens. The film was rated at ISO 100 to minimize color cast in the shadows.
The longer I shoot this film, the more I understand that at least one stop of overexposure gives me better results. It works good in the shadow areas and improves skin tones (btw this trick with skin tones works well with other film – Kodak Ektar 100) Looking at this set I realized one more thing – the combination of Superia together with this f/1.7 lens gives very surreal colors. What can I say? I’m in love with this film. Again.
Its very sad that FujiFilm is discontinuing Superia film line… But news about end of production was a reason why I got back to Fuji films and I’m still playing with them since spring; first I went to Fujicolor C200, then Superia 200 and at the moment of publishing this text I even surprised myself being able to discover unknown Superia stock – Superia 400 premium – my camera is loaded with it. So, as you can guess I’m having very good time. Anyway its still possible to find it and buy it – I would strongly recommend to do so while still can.
All these shots are taken in Warsaw, in one stroll through old town and riverbank. Its an amazing place to stretch legs and at the same time one of most photogenic places in city.
