Author Archives: Mitch Walker, Jr
Interested in photography since the age of ten, Mitchell Walker was self-taught in photography using the Family’s Kodak Camera and reading books and various publications on the subject. Los Angeles, where he grew up, became his subject matter over a time span of several years producing several images that are part of his portfolio. His work was first displayed in student group shows beginning in 1970 at Los Angeles City College. A photograph of his one-year-old nephew silhouetted against the screen door of his home was highly praised. At the age of 21 he became a Photographer’s mate in the United States Navy. This experience allowed him freedom to create other images, and to sharpen his photographic abilities to establish his own vision.
