Enable or disable web push notifications on desktops/laptops

The instructions assume that you are using the most current versions of the browsers.

Google Chrome

Enable or disable web push notifications in Google Chrome by following these steps:

  • Open Chrome and open a new tab/window.
  • Type the following into your address bar: chrome://settings/content
  • A page called “Content Settings” will appear.
  • Scroll down to “Notifications”.
  • To unblock a site, find it under the “Block” list. To block/remove a website, scroll down to “Allow” and find it.
  • Click on the three dots icon and select “Block” or “Remove”.

Mozilla Firefox

Enable or disable web push notifications in Mozilla Firefox by following these steps:

  • Open Firefox and in the menu, select “Preferences”.
  • On the preferences page, click on “Privacy & Security”.
  • In the Privacy & Security section, scroll down to “Permissions”.
  • Find “Notifications” and click on the “Settings” button.
  • In the pop-up window, find the address of the website you want to edit (you can also search).
  • On the right of the website’s address, click the drop-down box to select “Allow” or “Block”.
  • You can also click on the website and then click “Remove Website”.

Apple Safari

Enable or disable web push notifications in Apple Safari by following these steps:

  • Open Safari and in the menu click on “Safari” and then “Preferences”.
  • Click on “Websites”
  • On the left of the window, find “Notifications” an click on it,  then find the website you wish to change settings for.
  • Towards the right of the website’s name select “Allow” or Deny” from the drop-down.
  • You can also click on the website and then click “Remove”.

  • Open Google Chrome and tap on the menu (top right), followed by “Settings”.
  • Scroll down to “Site Settings” and tap it.
  • Scroll down to “Notifications” and tap it.
  • Find the website you want to edit in “Blocked” or “Allowed” and tap it.
  • Scroll down to “Permissions” and tap it.
  • Set your notification preferences here.
  • To remove a website completely, tap “CLEAR & RESET” on the previous screen.
