Having done a ‘5 Frames With’ from a camera point of view already for Hamish at 35mmc, so doing another one from a film point of view just had to be done. So which film? Well given how I admire the work of artists like Fred Herzog, Stephen Shore, William Eggleston etc., you can tell I love colour, especially the depth of colour that slide can bring.
I was a previous Velvia 50 convert but during 2017 I have been particularly impressed with Agfa CT Precisa 100 and it’s often more expensive stablemate Fuji Provia 100F. As it happens I started down this road when a certain Mr. Grumpyfuck gave me an expired roll of Provia 100F when we met up at a pub in Plymouth, so I need to thank Ash very much for that, which is quite ironic given his staunch support of B&W.
Here are my 5 frames; click on each thumbnail to see the photos as full screen.
The 5 Frames posted here were made with a Minolta X-700 and the standard 50mm f/1.7 lens with Agfa CT Precisa 100, shot at box speed and processed by my usual lab Ag Photolab, who I cannot praise highly enough.
The location is Heswall Shore which is quite close to where I live and which I have shot on numerous occasions, but on this occasion I set my alarm very early in order to catch the morning light. From my point of view anyway, I think it was worth giving up that extra couple of hours in bed!
